Founded in NYC in 2014 by two visionary entrepreneurs, WeKan recognized the need to support early-stage companies launching digital products. Our initial model involved partnering with promising startups by offering technology services in exchange for equity.

We provided these startups with CTO-level advisory and software implementation support, deploying dedicated engineering teams to design, architect, and develop their MVPs and subsequent releases.

This approach enabled WeKan to build a portfolio of over 30 companies in under five years, achieving four successful exits. Notably, in 2018, Cox Automotive acquired RideKleen, a B2B car care solution we developed end-to-end.

Following the acquisition, Cox retained WeKan as technology innovation partners to drive modernization across their portfolio, marking our entry into the enterprise sector and initiating our work in replacing legacy systems.

In 2020, after acquiring Realm, MongoDB enlisted WeKan to assist strategic customers in migrating from Legacy Realm to MongoDB Realm—a modernization we had previously executed at scale for Cox Automotive. Over the years, we developed significant expertise with MongoDB's mobile database and comprehensive product suite.

Demonstrating our expertise through multiple successful engagements, MongoDB included us in their Boutique SI program to offer SMEs on Mobile & Edge modernizations, expanding our role within their professional services ecosystem.

As MongoDB partners for over three years, we've led application modernizations for more than 20 Fortune 500 companies across various industries. Additionally, we've collaborated with cloud providers and global SIs to accelerate the adoption of MongoDB technology for AI in the enterprise space.
